Worker with a Sledgehammer
In
the training centre of the chamber of labour, which has been located
in Vienna’s 4th municipal district since 1962 and was extended in
1984, schluder architektur completely redesigned and renovated two
floors, under the supervision of Milan Mijalkovic, to meet the
demands of a modern training facility.
The photograph “Worker
with a Sledgehammer“ is at the centre of the new space on the 3rd floor, which is used
during breaks.
The photograph shows the same space during the rebuilding work from the same perspective. The life-size worker shown is elevated on a plinth and remained visible in the finished training centre when it reopened.
