9th Floor Chapel

As a part of the Viennese art fair Parallel 2017 the „9th Floor Chapel“ was built as a tribute and memorial to Milan‘s brother Aleksandar Mijalkovic. The Chapel was built out of chipboard and square timber. Everything was carried by hand, and without using the elevator. The Chapel was built into the existing space and thereby it distorted and covered the surrounding former student home.

The entrance was low so that the visitors had to bow their heads in reverence. Inside the chapel on the left side, a bench for two persons was facing the only light source - a white message on a black sign.
At the end of the fair, the chapel was demolished together with the ten-floor building.
